Mike Fisher on Return to NHL: 'It's Not An Easy Decision'

2016 CMT Music Awards - Arrivals

Carrie Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher isn’t sure of his NHL future.

The captain of the Nashville Predators, who advanced for the first-time ever to the Stanley Cup Final in 2017, reveals in an interview with Nashville’s local ABC affiliate that “it’ll take time” to decide whether or not he’ll return to the team for another season.

“I want to separate myself from the season and get some quiet time, kind of away, prayer and just figure out my decision,” Mike says. “It’s not an easy decision, no question. Lots of positives to both, but it’ll take time. I know it’ll come. I’ll try not to put any pressure on myself.”

As of July, Mike will become an unrestricted free agent in the NHL and then must decide if he’ll continue to “stand with” his home team again or opt to retire.

Mike joined the Predators in 2011 after 12 years with the Ottawa Senators.
