JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston Police confirmed the recovery of a body from a pond near an apartment complex.
The Charleston Police Department Underwater Response Team began a search in a pond near Riverland Woods Apartments in the 1000 block of Riverland Woods Place, Inspector Michael Gillooly said.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the person whose body was found.
Police have not confirmed whether the body was that of a man reported missing Monday by his family from the James Island area.
