Charleston International Airport to Reopen Saturday

LIVE 5

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston International Airport officials say they will reopen the airport on Saturday and hope to resume commercial air service at 12 p.m.

"We continue to monitor the storm and weather forecasts, and we are in regular communication with our airlines and with Joint Base Charleston, owner of the runways at CHS," spokesman Charlene Gunnells said. "All are committed to resuming air service as soon as possible and when it is safe."

Customers should contact their air carrier for information on cancellations, for rebooking assistance and for information on travel waivers. Airport parking facilities are still open so passengers who are able to return to Charleston may pick up their cars.
