GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -
Georgetown County School District officials say schools in the county will remain closed for students on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
"All employees should report at regular times to their assigned locations on Tuesday, conditions permitting," GCSD officials said."The meeting of the Georgetown County School District Board of Trustees, scheduled for Tuesday evening, is cancelled as well."
Schools will reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 19 on regular schedules.
The district said the closures are due to significant rainfall on Sunday evening which caused additional flooding, damage to schools, unsafe road conditions, and ongoing flash flood advisories, in addition to displacing many more students and staff members.
