The Town of Edisto Beach and others are sponsoring the Music & Shag Festival on August 30,31 & September 1st at Bay Creek Park. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Edisto Beach Music & Shag Festival.
The park opens at 4 PM on Friday with an arts & crafts fair and food vendors. DJ's will be providing beach music Friday afternoon. A shag lesson will be given at 5 PM, followed by the non-professional shag contest. The Entertainers will perform from 7-11 PM.
Saturday events, beginning at 12 noon include the arts & crafts fair and food vendors. The Shem Creek Boogie Band will play from 12 noon - 4 PM. An added treat will be the Stayin' Alive Dance Troupe performing Saturday afternoon. At 6 PM, a special shag contest featuring winners from past years will be held. Blackwater Rhythm & Blues entertain from 7-11 PM.
Sunday events begin at 12 noon with the arts and crafts fair and food vendors. Dance to Second Nature performs from 4-8 PM.
The junior shaggers exhibition will be Saturday and Sunday.
