Carrie Underwood took the stage at the CMT Giants Vince Gill tribute on Friday night (Sept. 16.) to perform a breathtaking version of "Go Rest High on That Mountain."

The country star's cover of Gill's song about grief led the crowd and Gill to give her a standing ovation and even made him tear up. Underwood included the new final verse that Gill added to the track in 2019 after his older brother Bob passed from a heart attack to her rendition. The song has earned Gill both CMA and Grammy Awards. Other musicians that paid tribute to Gill during the big night included Brad PaisleyCody JohnsonSting, Chris Stapleton, and more.
