Jimmie Allen and his ex-wife, Alexis Gale, have finalized their divorce.
Allen announced in a statement he posted on Instagram in April 2023 that he and Gale “have made the decision to separate,” after nearly two years of marriage. They got married in May 2021. They filed for divorce because of “irreconcilable differences” in April 2023, and the divorce was granted on October 1, PEOPLE confirmed in a report on Tuesday afternoon (October 29). Allen’s attorney has not publicly commented on the finalized divorce as of publication time.
When Allen shared his statement in April 2023, he also revealed that he and Gale were welcoming another baby together. He said at that time, “our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another.”
In July 2023, Allen told PEOPLE that “the divorce case is still pending, as my wife and I are working to resolve things together as a family.” A rep for the country artist stated a few months later that Allen and Gale were opting “to work on things and are still together.” Gale shared the first photos of the couple’s baby, son Cohen Ace James, who was born in late September, 2023. He joined big sisters Naomi Bettie, born in March 2020, and Zara James, born in October 2021, both of whom Allen shares with Gale. Allen revealed earlier this year that he has six children total, including Aadyn, 10, and twins Amari and Aria, born in July 2023 with another woman while Allen was separated from Gale. Allen said at that time, “I love each one of them. I refuse to let anyone make me feel ashamed of any of my children. The only opinion I care about is theirs 💛”
