Chris Young brought his romantic ballad to life with a new visual that premiered on Friday (April 11), one week after the singer-songwriter debuted “Til The Last One Dies.”
Young recently told iHeartCountry he was “overdue” to release a “straight-down-the-middle” love song as a single, pointing out it’s been more than a decade since he delivered “Who I Am With You” in 2013. “Til The Last One Dies” marks the beginning of the singer-songwriter’s next chapter in his career with his milestone 10th studio album on the horizon.
“It hit me on a winding road just how lucky I am/ Outta all the guys, only God knows why I get to be your man/ So I bought a dozen roses on my way to you tonight/ Eleven real ones, one fake one/ And I’ll love you ‘til the last one dies”
Young said when he first noticed the wedding-worthy single was written by Ben Hayslip, Seth Mosley, and Jordan Walker, he knew, “‘this is gonna be good. I’m gonna be mad I wasn’t in the room for this.’ And I am. I’m jealous. …It’s just a beautiful song.” The end of the chorus “is just absolutely chef’s kiss, gorgeous, beautiful way to say, ‘I love you.’
“I don’t think those songs [like ’Til The Last One Dies’] come along every day.”
