Go Red For Women. What does #wearredday mean?

February is American Heart Month and on the first Friday of every February the nation is encouraged to come together and wear red to raise awareness and support for those with cardiovascular disease.

The common goal: the eradication of heart disease and stroke.

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women. Heart diseases and stroke cause 1 in 3 female deaths each year. That’s one every 80 seconds, more than ALL cancers combined, Yet only about HALF of women know that heart disease is their No. 1 killer. The good news is that 80% of heart disease and stroke events may be prevented by lifestyle changes and education.

Look for events around town to show your support or You can donate here to help further research, education and support.

Post pictures today of yourself and your friends wearing red to show your support and use the hashtag #GoRedForWomen and #WearRedDay
