Hundreds of military spouses, kids given care packages in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Volunteers with “Support Military Spouses” made sure military spouses and children are cared for. Dozens of volunteers gave our hundreds of care packages in North Charleston Thursday morning.

“Being a military spouse and a mom, and balancing that with work and life can be tricky,” Betsey Feeser said. “Support Military Spouses makes you feel like a priority, and the care packages are so nice. It’s like that warm blanket you didn’t realize you needed.”

The care packages had a Bible, different books, stationary, jewelry, hand written thank you notes and much more for the spouses. The kids got a goodie bag as well with a Wells Fargo stuffed pony as well as an activity coloring book.

"You can see that everyone's shoulders just drop,” Feeser said. “You get a little more relaxed. This is just our day to come, hang out with other military families and let our kids play in the park outside.”

Feeser was also named Wells Fargo Volunteer of the Year for her significant work in the community.
