CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The City of Charleston Business Services Division says they have partnered with the U.S. Small Business Administration to host a free webinar on the second round of stimulus payments.

The webinar will also be cohosted by the Small Business Development Center.

Organizers say the webinar will provide important information regarding the second round of stimulus funding for small businesses in the Charleston area.

It will be titled, The Stimulus Round 2: What Small Businesses Need to Know, and it will be held via Zoom from on Jan. 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Charleston officials say Congress approved a $900 billion COVID relief package. While that money has been allocated for different uses, $284 billion has been set aside for the Paycheck Protection Program for small businesses.

This new package provides additional funding for those businesses that did not receive PPP money in the first round, particularly minority and women-owned businesses, officials say.

The webinar will provide details on who can apply for stimulus funding, how much businesses are eligible for, how to apply for forgiveness, important deadlines and available local resources, as well as an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

Registration is required for the webinar as space is limited, but officials say that registration can be completed on Zoom’s website.

More information can be found by contacting the city’s Business Services Division at 843-697-5273 or emailing authc@charleston-sc.gov.
