SNL's Pete Davidson Apologizes To Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw on SNL

Pete Davidson made really dumb a joke (or two) about Republican Congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw on “Saturday Night Live” that didn’t go over too well. Well, this weekend Crenshaw got to serve the comedian some payback... as well as get an in-person apology.

Davidson started off his portion of the “Weekend Update” segment by calling himself for his comments about the politician and war veteran, calling him a “war hero” who “deserves all the respect in the world.” He went on apologize and added, “If any good came of this, maybe that it was for one day, the left and the right came together to agree on something: that I’m a d**k.”

That’s when Crenshaw appeared. And after a round of applause and an in-person apology from the comedian, the Lt. Commander (and Representative-elect) said it was all good. So imagine everyone's "surprise" when Crenshaw's phone rang with Ariana Grande’s song “Breathin’” as the ring tone.

  • And then it was the roasting time. Among other things, Crenshaw noted that Davidson "looks like if the meth from ‘Breaking Bad’ was a person” and a “troll doll with a tapeworm.” But the most poignant moment of all? When Crenshaw explained the bigger picture. "There's a lot of lessons to learn here," he added. "Not just that the left and right can still agree on some things. But also, this: Americans can forgive one another."
