The special bond between people and dogs has been scientifically proven to help people live longer.
70 years of global research has found that owning a dog "is actively protective against dying of any cause." There's a 24% drop in "cause mortality" for people who have a pup in their life. People who walk their dogs usually get at least 30 more minutes of extra exercise than those without a dog. Petting a dog reduces your blood pressure, and dog ownership can be associated with better outcomes after a major cardiovascular event.
