Can you imagine being at a wedding where Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, and Tracy Lawrence are all bridesmen? That’s exactly what happened some years ago when the three country music superstars attended the wedding of a close friend, Tammy Rose. McGraw who was a guest on Keith Urban’s “Beyond Influence Radio” spoke about being taken under Tammy’s wing when he first moved to Nashville. Garth and Tracy were also both friends and Rose invited the three stars to be a part of her wedding.
At the time Brooks had just broken through in a big way, Lawrence had some hits under his belt and McGraw had just gotten signed."Tracy and I had been friends for a while and he had his success, but Garth was there and I'm sort of in awe of Garth being there,"McGraw recalled.
McGraw continued, “You know, I just want to thank you Garth, because you knocked the door down for all the things that I wanted to do as a country singer.” I wanted to come to town and record songs that had a broader melody or broader appeal and I wanted to do shows that were like the rock shows that I saw growing up. That’s the kind of thing that I wanted to do.”
