Skippy Foods is recalling 161,692 pounds of peanut butter, saying some of it may have been infected by small fragments of steel from manufacturing equipment. The products included in the recall are Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut, Reduced Fat Chunky Peanut Butter Spread and Creamy Peanut Butter Blended with Plant Protein, the company reveals. Only jars with "use by" dates of May 2023 or later are affected by the recall, according to Skippy.
"From our family to yours, we want you to know that we take the quality of our products very seriously and apologize to our fans for this situation," reads a statement issued Thursday by Skippy. "Our company is committed to product quality and will continue to invest in our processes to ensure the quality and wholesomeness of our products."
