Watch: Reba McEntire Posts Throwback Of Powerful Moment Nearly 40 Years Ago

Reba McEntire marked nearly 40 years since she released her award-winning single, “Whoever’s In New England.”

McEntire shared a throwback clip on Instagram on Thursday (January 30) in honor of the heartfelt ballad’s debut this week in 1986. The clip captures McEntire delivering a powerful performance of “Whoever’s In New England,” which went on to score the beloved legend a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and an Academy of Country Music Award for Visual Media of the Year. McEntire added in her caption, “thank you for keeping this song close to your hearts all these years. ❤️”

“Whoever’s In New England” served as the title track of McEntire’s 10th studio album in the mid-1980s. The Oklahoma-born singer and actress is also known for “Fancy,” “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia,” “Does He Love You” with Linda Davis, “Walk On,” “Is There Life Out There,” “Little Rock,” “Consider Me Gone,” “I’m A Survivor” and much more throughout her decades-long career.
